The Piseogs at Manorhamilton Castle

Saturday 6th August 8pm

The Piseógs are a 7 piece ska jazz ensemble from Sligo/Leitrim and New York. Their music blends driving Caribbean beats with a stolen modality from Irish folk music, haunting melodies and ambient synth sounds. They create a lush and mystical soundscape designed to entrance the listener into their soulful otherworldly grooves. The Piseógs could, in spirit, be perceived as a reincarnation of a jazz band from the roaring 20s of last century. An upbeat antidote to the current global mayhem.
The renowned Duff Guide To Ska (NYC) wrote “ you should know that they’re a fantastic traditional-leaning ska and rocksteady band from Sligo, Ireland and they’ve issued a new, you-shouldn’t-miss EP titled Limestone Rock  (Digital, self-released, 2021)”
Buttondown Radio UK
The Piseógs have their second long player out ‘Take The Gods Bowling’ and it’s 8 awesome instrumental tracks which have been given the Agent Jay (The Slackers) treatment. They’re not your conventional ska band. Bits of dub, electronica, ska and reggae amalgamate together to give a futuristic album which pushes the genre forward. It’s dope.
8pm. Tickets: €10/8
