She can be anything is a cross community and cross border women’s development project, seeking to foster connectivity between women along the border area, creating opportunities for friendship through a creative skills based programme of activities. The programme focuses on women’s empowerment and supports women to be confident in their creative expression.
Two programmes will focus on image-making and expression and we are delighted that the filmmaker Róisín Loughrey, creative writing Tutor Monica Corish and artist facilitator Rachel Webb are supporting the projects
Yr 1. Everyday Heroines – Portraits of Ourselves. Commences Wednesday 7th Feb 2018, 7.30-9.30pm and runs for 8 consecutive Wednesdays in The Glens Centre.
Collaborative Cross Border Women’s Film- Poem
I AM FROM Exhibition : including the collective film-poem ‘Everyday Heroines’ made by women along the border. The work presented emerged from a collaborative creative process undertaken by twelve women working with the filmmaker Róisín Loughrey acquiring new image-making and creativity skills, with creative writing inputs by Leitrim based poet/creative writer Monica Corish.
