GLENS ROCK SCHOOL, SONGWRITING & MUSIC WEEK
Suitable for all young musicians (12- 17 yr olds) from drummers to electric guitarists to banjo players!  Learn songs in a band or group, write your own songs and play a gig with the rock school in the Glens Centre. At least one years playing experience essential.  
Every Day from 10 is ‘til 4 pm.  
Concert will be held on Fri 21st June at 8.30pm.

The Canadian guitarist, singer songwriter - the powerhouse that is Matt Andersen plays his first Glens show. Matt Andersen has a larger than life showmanship that has been earning him a fervent and steadfast audience wherever he graces the stage. Matts sprawling blues, roots and rock musical hybrid with his sorrowing and soulful voice has sparked a phenomenal buzz.

THE HENRY GIRLS
Donegal sisters The Henry Girls present a selection of darkly beautiful roots music, from bluegrass murder ballads to gypsy torch songs, dirty blues to soul salvation. With the harp and piano as their main accompaniment, their shimmering harmonies weave a continuous spell throughout their music. The siblings have a growing international profile and have in the past year toured in the UK, USA and Germany, as well as performances in Sweden, Holland and Italy.

The Irish Times simply described their stage show as “a joy”.

Step into the mad world of Le Cabaret Oublié!

From the team behind the multi-award winning Cirque de Légume comes another adventure in the comic absurd with Le Cabaret Oublié!
Ringleader, maestro, and boss Chauncy has a vision: to create a show dedicated to the lost art of the cabaret. But the idiots he works with have other ideas.  In Le Cabaret Oublié we join this family of clowns on a spectacular voyage into the absurd. From music, to dance, to song, storytelling, theatre, and magic - these hopeful fools put their hearts on the line to create the Show of All Shows!

An immersive underground cabaret experience, Le Cabaret Oublié is a clown show torn from some dusty basement in Pigalle and delivered to your doorstep for your enjoyment!
Le Cabaret Oublié is a world premiere developed exclusively at the Glens Centre, Manorhamilton and performed at the Glens Centre and at the Hawks Well Theatre as part of Cairde Festival, Sligo

The Leitrim Equation 3
Very special concert with 3 kings of traditional music.  The concert is part of their residency with Leitrim County Council and will be recorded live.

The Leitrim Equation group has come together as part of the county’s third and final Traditional Band in residency programme. The group comprises of three legends of traditional music namely Seamus Begley on accordion and vocals, John Carty on fiddle, banjo and flute and Donál Lunny on bouzouki and guitar. They have spent the last year visiting different pasrt of Leitrim, learnining Leitirm tunes and meeting the musicians and people of Leitrim. Now they present the fruits of that labour in concert.

The Group will be joined on the night by some very special Leitrim guests to truly reflect their time spent in Co Leitrim over the past year.

The Alan Kelly Gang will be joined by internationally acclaimed, Scottish songstress, Eddi Reader, (formerly of Fairground Attraction) and Trashcan Sinatra’s guitarist and songwriter, John Douglas for this very special 3rd annual collaboration tour of Ireland.   Fronted by Ireland’s piano accordion maestro, described by New York’s Irish Voice as in league with the best accordionists in the world and with three of Ireland’s finest musicians Steph Geremia (flute & vocals), Maureen Brown (fiddle) and Tony Byrne 9 guitar) all critically acclaimed masters of their craft, The Alan Kelly Gang have been creating a stir on the traditional and folk circuit taking their audiences by storm and impressing both music lover and critic alike.

The past few years have been extremely busy for the band with top festival appearances worldwide including: WOMADelaide, Australia; Winnipeg Folk Festival, Canada and Festival Irlandays, Paris to mention just a few. They have earned a formidable reputation on the live music scene and honed their distinctive and exciting sound through constant touring. On this tour they will preview material from their forthcoming album due for release Sept 2013.
